Q&A with David

How do you define your role as a fiduciary?

As both an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) and an attorney, my commitment to you as a fiduciary is deeply ingrained. Notably, this means I am legally and ethically bound to always act in your absolute best interest, prioritizing your financial well-being above all else. Notably, my role as an IAR already requires me to uphold this fiduciary standard for advice, but my background as an attorney further reinforces a robust duty of loyalty, care, and transparency. This dual qualification always ensures that your best interest always comes first, providing you with a uniquely comprehensive and trustworthy advisory relationship.

What is your investment philosophy?

I would describe my philosophy as a disciplined approach to investing. A philosophy built around evidence, and not emotion, that leverages decades of academic research and economic theory to construct portfolios designed for long-term success. This means focusing on proven principles: paying attention to costs, strategically allocating assets across a wide range of investments (including global stocks, bonds, and other asset classes), and ensuring your portfolio is well-diversified to manage risk (e.g., using both correlated and non-correlated investments). As part of our investment philosophy, we also integrate tax-efficient strategies and regular rebalancing to maximize return while managing risk. I don’t try to time the market or predict its every move; instead, I focus on a consistent, disciplined, long-term investment strategy, that helps my clients build lasting wealth.

What do you like to do for fun?

When I’m not in the office, you’ll almost certainly find me on the golf course. It’s a passion I love sharing with clients, as these relaxed rounds are an excellent way to foster deeper connections and understand what truly matters to you. For me, it’s about building trust and I’ve found that these casual settings often reveal a deeper understanding of your core values, ultimately strengthening our advisory relationship.

Describe some of your favorites: book, movie, person, game, vacation, hobby, music, color. Why these?

It’s tough to pick just one, as I’m an avid reader, but if I had to choose, it would be The Secrets of Economic Indicators. It might not be everyone’s idea of a thrilling read, but delving into the intricate workings of the economy provides me with invaluable insights that inform my approach to helping clients navigate their financial journeys.
