Thomas P. Timberg, CFP^®

A financial planning practitioner since 1988, the majority of Tom's clients are individuals or couples within 10 to 20 years of retiring – or individuals or couples who are already retired. Through his professional counsel and guidance, Tom helps his clients manage the various aspects of their financial lives more effectively – with enhanced efficiency and reduced stress. A graduate of the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE), Tom completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional education program and prepared for the national CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ examination, which he passed in 1990. Having met the rigorous education, experience and ethics requirements, Tom is authorized to use the CFP® certification. Tom also earned his Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) designation from NEFE in 1997.

He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Oregon (formerly the IAFP, International Association for Financial Planning). He was also a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) before it merged with the IAFP. A Vietnam Era Veteran, Tom is a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA). In November of 2007 Tom was sworn in as a volunteer CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). A child advocate volunteer is a trained citizen who is appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interest of a child. CASA volunteers work for children, who are victims of alleged abuse and neglect. In addition to being a CASA Tom is an ongoing volunteer with the American Heart Association. Tom’s leisure activities revolve around his daughter’s athletic programs and his long-time passion for playing the game of golf. He and his wife, Julie, enjoy entertaining family and friends, in addition to gardening activities.
