Our federally-trademarked, unique processes allow us to better serve our clients and help them meet their financial goals. In addition to applying these unique processes for the benefit our clients, we believe in working as a team. While it may be more labor intensive, two Certified Financial Planner™ professionals working together can produce better results and provide greater depth of talent, insight and service – not to mention plenty of back up. We call this The Team Advantage.
Here is a brief listing of some of our major processes that we use. Those that are marked with (pdf) will link you to an Adobe formatted diagram.
The Planning Vision Process® (pdf)
This is the main process we use for all new clients, from the very first meeting to the Vision Presentation, to regular follow-up meetings. To provide our clients with the best possible service and advice, The Planning Vision Process® encompasses seven steps. Some of them and a few additional processes are explained below.
The Confident Retirement Vision® (pdf)
This process incorporates all the important factors that need to be considered before you can enjoy a happy and secure retirement. Beside quantitative information about resources, we integrate qualitative information about lifestyle, family issues, legacy goals, longevity, and personal life goals. Only when everything has been properly addressed can you retire with confidence.
Confident Legacy Vision® (pdf)
This process considers your values, concerns, goals, family history and dynamics, assets, laws, and taxes to produce a legacy for your family, your values, and your social concerns.
The Second-Half Focuser™
This process helps you identify key lifetime goals across several categories. We use this information to develop comprehensive financial plans and establish benchmarks to measure your personal and financial progress.
The Confident Goal Analysis™ (pdf)
Investment returns just don’t happen in a straight line, year after year. They can vary significantly from year to year. Using the latest in software and computing capacity, our analysis looks at the probability of achieving a goal, such as having your money live longer than you do. It’s not a crystal ball or a perfect tool, but it provides a better handle on the likelihood of achieving certain goals under certain assumptions.
The Confident Progress Index™
We originally intended this tool to serve as an agenda for regular update meetings, as a way to track and measure the completion of important financial planning to-do’s, and to track your personal and financial progress over the years. But it works even better as a diagnostic tool for new clients to indicate their areas of concern or major planning issues for us to address.
The Retirement Readiness Process™
This is a "countdown to retirement" checklist that helps us keep you on track with important planning items as you near retirement.
Wealth Management-Plus™
We managed individual portfolios for our clients with a primary focus on risk management. These often take the form of broadly diversified portfolios of no-load or load-waived mutual funds. For larger accounts we also offer portfolios of growth-oriented individual stocks; income-oriented portfolios of dividend paying stocks and bonds; and portfolios of tax-free bonds.
We manage our clients' investment portfolios on a fee-only, discretionary basis, based upon a written investment policy. This gives us the ability to make changes as needed, while giving you the opportunity to do other things.
Our management fee also serves as a retainer for ongoing wealth management advice. We encourage our clients to consult with us on all of their financial decisions. There are no additional charges for this service. That’s the “Plus” in Wealth Management-Plus. ™
